A mecca of culinary and cultural diversity, Queens boasts a large number of outdoor restaurants and cafes. During the summer months, New Yorkers and tourists alike cross the 59th Street Bridge or brave the overly airconditioned 7-, N-, R- & W-trains as an alternative to the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Queens contains one of the largest and most vibrant Greek and Croatian communities in the country as well as well as growing or flourishing Italian American, Irish, Arab, South Asian, Polish, Albanian, Romanian, Hispanic, Filipino, Chinese, Korean, Guyanese, Indian, Jamaican, Young-Urban and Hipster communities. It is a mecca of culinary activity and, luckily, hosts a variety of outdoor venues to pass the lazy Spring, Summer and (most) Autumn afternoons.

It is also home the oldest beer garden in New York City.
